Spiritual Center of Galicia is in the village Univ of Peremyshliany district in Lviv region. The exact date of the founding of the monastery is unknown. However, according to archival documents is suggested that it happened in the early 14th century. Since its inception Univ monastery passed into the possession of various princes and metropolitans.

Its revival building was thanked to Andrey Sheptytsky. In 1898 the monastery received the status of Lavra. It ensured the influx of monks and development of the economy. At the Univ Monastery was formed a library, shelter, worked icon painting workshop.
